Volunteer Teams work Description and the responsibilities they will be carrying out on behalf of the Residents of Zamalek. 

  Environmental & Development 

 Evaluate violations or problems discovered during regular inspections in order to determine appropriate regulatory actions.

 Provide advice on the development and prosecution of regulatory cases. 

Communicate scientific and technical information through the website & General Lectures. 

 Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements.

 Provide technical guidance, support, and oversight to group heads and residents of Zamalek. 

 Provide advice on proper standards and regulations and the development of policies, strategies, and codes of practice for environmental management. 

 Analyze data to determine validity, quality, and scientific significance, and to interpret correlations between residents activities and environmental effects. 

 Collect, synthesize, and analyze data derived from pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information, and soil or water conditions. 

 Determine data collection methods to be employed in research projects and surveys. 

 Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, and provide summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.

 Develop the technical portions of legal documents, administrative orders, or consent decrees. 

 Investigate and report on accidents affecting the environment. 

 Monitor environmental impacts of development activities. 

 Supervise environmental technologists and technicians. 

 Develop programs designed to obtain the most productive, non-damaging use of land. 

 Research sources of pollution to determine their effects on the environment and to develop theories or methods of pollution abatement or control. 

 Monitor effects of pollution and environmental degradation, and recommend means of prevention or control. 

 Design and direct studies to obtain technical environmental information about planned projects. 

 Conduct applied research on topics such as waste control and treatment and pollution control methods.

 Plan and develop research models using knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts.

 Update the News Section on the Group website on monthly bases to reflect the Environmental & Development Status of the Group.

  Data gathering & Data Analysis

 Maintain all the Data records from all the group heads on weekly bases. 

 Act As the Data Source on Behalf of the Zamalek Residents with regards to all their major concerns.

 Check and Double Check Data validity and accuracy of information provided 

 Carry out quantitative and Qualitative Data analysis and prepare result sheets and tables. 

 Prepare results to be published in their specialized logations on the website. 

 Provide all the asked for data for the various groups of Zamalek Guardians.  

 Carry out all the Research on behalf of all the envolved teams in Zamalek Guardians.

 Update the News Section on the Group website on monthly bases to reflect the Data gathering & Data Analysis Status of the Group.

  Events Organization & Management 

 Obtain permits from fire and health departments to erect displays and exhibits and serve food at events. 

 Promote conference, convention and trades show services by performing tasks such as meeting with professional and trade associations, and producing brochures and other publications. 

 Develop event topics and choose featured speakers. 

 Consult with members in order to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions. 

 Monitor event activities in order to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise. 

 Confer with teams at a chosen event site in order to coordinate details. Review event bills for accuracy, and approve payment. 

 Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to members requirements. 

 Coordinate services for events, such as facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security. 

 Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, displays, and other event needs.

 Inspect event facilities in order to ensure that they conform to members requirements.

 Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details. Conduct post-event evaluations in order to determine how future events could be improved.  

 Negotiate contracts with such service providers and suppliers as hotels, convention centers, and speakers. 

 Meet with sponsors and organizing committees in order to plan scope and format of events. 

 Establish and monitor budgets, and to review administrative procedures and event progress. 

 Direct administrative details such as financial operations, dissemination of promotional materials, and responses to inquiries.

 Evaluate and select providers of services according to members requirements.  

 Read trade publications, attend seminars, and consult with other meeting professionals in order to keep abreast of meeting management standards and trends. 

 Organize registration of event participants.

 Design and implement efforts to publicize events and promote sponsorships.  

 Train, and supervise volunteers and support teams required for events.

  Management of the Zamalek Guardians Site

 Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of website and to protect vulnerable information.

 Modify existing website and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. 

 Test website, correct errors and make necessary modifications.

 Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information on the website against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. 

 Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new pages and improvements to the website, such as the installation of new databases. 

 Train users and answer questions. Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters, using manuals and calculator. 

 Specify users and user access levels for each segment of the website.

 Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used, following procedures and using pen, template or computer software.

 Develop methods for integrating different components so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs. 

 Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. 

 Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to the website. 

 Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine website scope and limitations.

 Select and enter codes to monitor database performance and to create website database.

  Public Relations & Internal Coordination

 Public Relations Identify main member groups and residents and determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them. 

 Write interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits and develop and maintain residents internet or intranet web pages.

Develop and maintain the Guardians corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage. 

 Manage communications budgets. 

 Manage special events such as sponsorship of races, parties introducing new members, or other activities the members supports in order to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly. 

 Draft speeches for group executives, and arrange interviews and other forms of contact for them. 

 Assign, supervise and review the activities of public relations team. 

 Evaluate advertising and promotion programs for compatibility with public relations efforts. 

 Establish and maintain effective team relationships with local and municipal government officials and media representatives. 

 Confer with labor relations managers to develop internal communications that keep teams informed of Guardians activities.

 Direct activities of external agencies, establishments and departments that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs. 

Formulate policies and procedures related to residents information programs, working with public relations executives. 

 Respond to requests for information about teams activities or status.

 Establish goals for soliciting funds, develop policies for collection and safeguarding of contributions, and coordinate disbursement of funds. 

 Facilitate residents relations, or the relationship between members such as the managers and teams, or different residents. 

 Maintain Zamalek Guardians archives. Manage in-Zamalek communication courses.

 Produce films and other video products, regulate their distribution, and operate film library. 

 Observe and report on social, economic and political trends that might affect residents.

 Security & Coordination with Police Department

  Plan & Ensure security of residential and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of houses, streets, and Zamalek in General. 

 Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. 

 Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. 

 Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. 

 Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. 

 Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property. 

 Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when needed. 

 Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.

 Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection. 

 Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering. 

 Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, or boiler.

  Advertising & Marketing 

 Prepare budgets and submit estimates for program costs as part of campaign plan development. 

 Plan and prepare advertising and promotional material, working with residents, Group managers, sales group and advertising agencies. 

 Assist with annual budget development. 

 Inspect layouts and advertising copy and edit scripts, audio and video tapes, and other promotional material for adherence to specifications. 

 Coordinate activities of departments, such as graphic arts, media, finance, and research. 

 Prepare and negotiate advertising and sales contracts. 

 Identify and develop contacts for promotional campaigns that meet identified buyer targets such as dealers, distributors, or consumers. 

 Gather and organize information to plan advertising campaigns. 

 Confer with group heads and/or team to discuss topics such as contracts, selection of advertising media, or product to be advertised. 

 Confer with residents to provide marketing or technical advice. 

 Monitor and analyze monthly donation results to determine cost effectiveness of promotion campaigns. 

 Read trade journals and professional literature to stay informed on trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning. 

 Provide presentation and product demonstration support during the introduction of new projects and services to group management and residents.  

 Direct, motivate, and monitor the mobilization of a campaign team to advance campaign goals. 

 Plan and execute advertising policies and strategies for Zamalek Guardians.  

 Track program budgets and expenses and campaign response rates to evaluate each campaign based on program objectives. 

 Assemble and communicate with a strong, diverse coalition of organizations and/or public figures, securing their cooperation, support and action, to further campaign goals. 

 Train and direct workers engaged in developing and producing advertisements. 

 Coordinate with the media to disseminate advertising. 

 Contact organizations to explain services and facilities offered. 

 Direct and coordinate research and development. 

 Represent Zamalek Guardians at trade association meetings to promote projects. 

 Consult publications to learn about conventions and social functions and to organize prospect files for promotional purposes.

Accounting & Financial Matters

 Maintain Accounting records. 

 Perform personal bookkeeping services. 

 Prepare purchase orders and expense reports. 

 Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. 

 Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. 

 Comply with state, and group policies, procedures, and regulations. Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases. 

 Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures. 

 Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable. 

 Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. Perform financial calculations such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal. 

 Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence. 

 Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks. 

 Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers. 

 Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.  

 Reconcile records of bank transactions.

 Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new team members.

 Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for Residents & members. 

 Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors. 

 Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials. 

 Plan, develop, and provide training and residents development programs. 

 Evaluate effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. 

 Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs. 

 Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards. 

 Train team members and group heads in techniques and skills for training and dealing with residents. 

 Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community schools and designate training procedures. 

 Prepare training budget for department or organization.

  Law & Court Handling 

Advise members concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.

 Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. 

 Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.  

 Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.

 Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. 

 Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing members and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.        

 Represent members in court or before government agencies. 

 Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit. 

 Argue motions, meet with judges and question witnesses during the course of a trial.

 Present evidence to defend members or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.

 Study Constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances of judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.

 Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.

 Direct activities of teams who perform duties on various projects.

 Confer with other group heads to coordinate work activities with those of other departments or units.

 Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety.

 Inventory supplies of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure that sufficient supplies are available and items are in usable condition. Investigate work-related complaints in order to verify problems, and to determine responses. 

 Monitor project activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained. 

 Order the performance of corrective work when problems occur, and recommend procedural changes to avoid such problems.

 Perform personnel-related activities such as assigning task, evaluating team performance, and taking disciplinary actions when performance problems occur.
